Daddy's New (Temporary?) Home

All,
I moved Daddy to Magnolia Place in Cairo, Georgia today. He is in a nicely furnished respite(?) room for 3 weeks then we have to make a decision. He seemed OK when I left. This has to be hard on him, so many changes, so quickly. Mary and I are very relieved to know his is warm, safe and has good food. You may remember that Derrick is there so maybe it helps HK to have a friend. I stayed and ate lunch which was very good, way better than the PB&J I had planned. I am enclosing the link to the web site so you can check it out and please send him mail occasionally; you know how he and Momma used to wait for the postman.
I was strong all day then I went back to 175 and the realization hit. It's not right for the little house to be empty. Mary and I are thankful for your prayers.
Love to you all.

Mom and A. Debbie

PS Mother's birthday is tomorrow - she would have been 88.

Without ceasing, Mom...without ceasing...
that you will know the depth of His love for you and the strength of His hand as He holds you.
I wish I could have been with you when you returned to 175, but even still, you were not alone.

This morning I called Magnolia Place to check on dad. The lady says he is doing great and that he told her he should have moved up there five years ago. I am thankful to Debbie for getting him there. This has been an unpleasant situation but I am hopeful he will adjust and be content.

Sending some Hershey's to him today in a a flat rate box. It is easier. For the first time in a long, long time I feel some relief, like I can catch my breath.

If birthdays are celebrated in heaven then Moma is have the best one of her life. Glory!

Update.
I brought Daddy back home on Thursday (9th); he lasted a week. Liked the place very well but a few issues tipped the balance. He is staying home alone at the present. I plan to hire someone to come in to clean a couple of times a week and Mary started meals on wheels again (how many times in this?). He has a call alert deal to wear and good heat in the house. He says he can manage so here we go.
